Park Board of Commissioners
Policy-making and legislative authority are vested in the St. Charles Park Board, which consists of seven commissioners. The Board is elected on a nonpartisan, at large basis. Commissioners are elected to four-year terms. This governing body is responsible for, among other things, passing ordinances, adopting the budget, appointing committees, and hiring the Park District Executive Director. The Executive Director is responsible for carrying out the policies and ordinances of the Board, for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Park District, and for appointing the heads of the Park District’s departments.
April 6, 2027 Consolidated Election Information:
Three (four-year term) positions will be up for election to the office of Commissioner of the St. Charles Park District on April 6, 2027. Potential candidates may pick up election information packets beginning August 18, 2026 at Baker Community Center, located at 101 South Second Street, St. Charles, Illinois during normal business hours: Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Candidates may begin circulating petitions August 25, 2026. Petitions should be filed with Jenny Santos during business hours at Baker Community Center between November 16, 2026 at 8:00 am and November 23, 2026 at 5:00 pm.
