Reserving an indoor tennis court is now faster and more convenient thanks to the St. Charles Park District’s new online court reservation system at Norris Recreation Center. The mobile-friendly platform gives players an easy way to view court availability, reserve court time and manage reservations from virtually anywhere.
Whether booking online, by phone or in person, all court reservations must be paid at the time of booking.
“Our members and guests have been asking for a more convenient way to reserve courts, and we’re excited to introduce a system that makes the process easier than ever,” said Dan Charak, Racquet Sports & Wellness Supervisor. “Players can reserve a court in just a few clicks, making it simple to fit tennis into even the busiest schedule.”
Members of Norris Recreation Center may reserve courts up to seven days in advance, while nonmembers can book courts up to 24.5 hours before their desired playing time. Nonmembers are required to pay the applicable daily admission fee in addition to the hourly court reservation fee upon arrival.
The reservation system is intended for individual recreational play only. Private instruction, team practices and league matches are not permitted through the reservation system, and reservation fees cannot be divided among multiple players.
Courts 1, 2 and 3 are designated exclusively for tennis, while Court 4 accommodates both tennis and pickleball. Courts are available beginning at 5:30 a.m. Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. on Saturdays and 8 a.m. on Sundays. The first reservation of each weekday morning offers a 90-minute playing session, followed by convenient 60-minute reservation times throughout the day.
Members enjoy complimentary court reservations during select off-peak hours, while reservations during peak times are $20 per hour. Nonmembers pay $20 per hour for all court reservations in addition to the daily admission fee.
“We continue to see tremendous interest in both tennis and pickleball, and this new reservation system helps us provide a better experience for everyone using our courts,” Charak said. “It’s another way we’re investing in our racquet sports community and making it easier for players of all skill levels to stay active and enjoy the game.”
Reservations canceled at least 24 hours before the scheduled court time are eligible for a refund. No-shows and cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance will be charged the applicable court fee. Members who fail to cancel complimentary court reservations within the required timeframe will be charged the standard $20 per hour court fee. Norris Recreation Center reserves the right to cancel reservations when necessary.
The Park District encourages players to create an online account and experience the convenience of the new reservation system.
