Course provides socially distanced recreation
Resume some normalcy with your family this summer with a traditional game of minigolf. River View Miniature Golf Course in St. Charles is now open for business, but with a few changes to ensure the safety of patrons and staff, as outlined in the governor’s Restore Illinois Plan for Phase 3.
To play, you must purchase tickets online via www.stcparks.ticketleap.com. Reservations are available daily every 15 minutes from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. There’s a limit of six tickets per group.
Food is still available but only prepacked items, and new cleaning protocols are being enforced on golf balls, putters and cups. Staff will also monitor the course to enforce social distancing between groups.
“Minigolf is the perfect socially distanced activity for families,” said Sabrina Killeen, Community Center Supervisor. “You can have fun and still follow the rules.”
All the while, you and your family can enjoy the scenic views along the Fox River challenging your putt-putt skills on the 18-hole course complete with a waterfall, babbling brook, light house, windmill and more. The par 42 course has nine holes that are wheelchair accessible.
Each hole is unique and challenging for every age and themed. Hole two, named Crazy Eight, features the shape of the number on its green. Tunnel of paradise at hole 7 offers a refreshing splash and some shade on a hot summer day from a beautiful waterfall. On hole 11, players will putt their ball over a small creek running through the green. At hole 15, golfers enjoy the challenge of Logger’s Run and getting a ball through an opening through a wooden tunnel.
Ever wonder what St. Charles looks like from the middle of the Fox River? Get a whole new perspective on our historical town. Kayaks may be used in the Fox River between the railroad trestle to the south and the No Wake Buoys to the north.
If you want to add boating to your recreation this summer, rentals for kayaks and pedal boats are available at $19 per hour per boat. Fee includes life jacket(s) and paddles. Tickets and reservations are also available at www.stcparks.ticketleap.com.
All activities are subject to change via COVID-19 restrictions. For more information, visit www.riverviewminigolf.com
