Whether your style is glitzy and ritzy or buttoned up and bow tied, celebrate the “Roaring Twenties” during a special evening set aside for moms and sons and dads and daughters.
Register now for Mom/Son Date Night from 5-7 p.m. Feb. 1 and two Daddy Daughter dances from 6:30-8:30 p.m. March 7 and March 14. All dances are held at the Pottawatomie Community Center, 8 North Ave. in St. Charles. Early registration is encouraged as spots fill up fast.
With a glitz and glamour theme, the evening will take you back to an era of flappers, jazz and silent film stars. Utilizing multiple rooms in the community center, you and your little man or princess will enjoy dancing, DJ, entertainment, refreshments and more.
“Life gets busy, so slow down with an evening to create positive memories with your son or daughter, spending quality time together engaging in fun activities,” said Alex Weidner, recreation supervisor.
Previous Mom/Son Date Night events have traditionally followed a more casual theme, focusing on sports and other activities. But this year, it will be similar in style to the Daddy Daughter Dance, reflecting a more formal, dance theme.
Got two left feet? No problem. All dances will include dance lessons from park district instructors to get you feeling confident and moving to the beat all night long.
When it’s time for a break from the “Charleston,” munch on food catered by Onesti’s Club Arcada and indulge in the dessert bar provided by Culvers.
Capture the moment in front of glitzy gold backdrop and add some flair with props. Photos will be available for purchase online one week after the event date.
All attendees will go home with a special memento as well.
Participants must be accompanied by a registered adult. One adult may accompany multiple children from the same household.
The fee for each Mom/Son Date Night and Daddy Daughter Dances are $22 for residents and $33 for nonresidents.
After registering, remember to pre-order your corsage ($19) or boutonniere ($13) for your special date. Paragon Flowers in St. Charles will use carnations and spray roses with pink and white flowers. All orders will be available for pick-up at Pottawatomie prior to the dance.
