St. Charles Park District recently accepted a resignation from Commissioner Mike Hoscheit, who had served on the board three years, resulting in a vacancy on the Park Board.
Commissioners received and reviewed applications from four well-qualified candidates. Longtime St. Charles resident Steven Ward was elected to fill the vacant seat. Mr. Ward was sworn in at the November 24, 2020 Park Board meeting.
“All of the applicants possessed traits, skills and education that would benefit the District and its residents. It was a difficult decision but the Board, as a team, selected Steve and looks forward to working with him,” said Park Board President James F. Cooke.
In order to keep the seat, Ward will have to run in the spring election. There will be four seats open at the Consolidated Election on April 6, 2021. Commissioners are elected to four-year terms.
