Annual holiday event offers more entertainment and prizes
“What a bright time, it’s the right time” to register for the St. Charles Park District’s Jingle Bell Bash for individuals age 50 and older.
From 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 6, attendees will have the opportunity to “mix and a-mingle” with lunch, dancing, games and more at the Q Center. Jingle bells are optional, but registration is required by Nov. 21.
“Jingle Bell Bash is a fun, festive way to reconnect with friends and kick off the holiday season,” said Lynne Yuill, Adult Activity Center Supervisor.
Formerly called Winter Wonderland, this annual holiday celebration will be better than ever with more entertainment and prizes, and new games.
Yuill said they are changing the process for awarding door prizes, so there is more time to dance, socialize and engage in activities.
Guests can look forward to two hours of entertainment by Edizon Dayao, who is back by popular demand to sing and play hits from the 1950s to today. Also new this year will be a slideshow featuring photos of Adult Activity Center trips and activities, and winter-themed, green screen photo opportunities.
A raffle for gift baskets will still take place as in the past. Some of this year’s packages include dinner and a show for Rox City Grill and Arcada Theatre in St. Charles, and Two Brothers Roundhouse and Paramount Theatre in Aurora; retail, wine and dessert gift cards; and, golfing gift cards.
Silverado, a sponsor of the event, also is donating additional gift baskets as prizes for a new table game that attendees will play during the afternoon.
The park district will provide free transportation from Pottawatomie Community Center to the Q Center and back. Individuals must register for the shuttle separately from the event.
The fee is $40 for Adult Activity Center members and $60 for nonmembers. To register for the event, visit www.stcparks.org. For more information, call Lynne Yuill at 630-513-4324.
Jingle Bell Bash is sponsored by Autumn Leaves of St. Charles and Silverado.
