Share the love of gardening with your child this spring during three new St. Charles Park District planting classes, thanks to a new partnership with Heinz Brothers Greenhouse in St. Charles.
Watch as your child’s imagination comes alive as you plan out your very own fairy garden to take home during Fairy Garden 101. All materials including a pot, soil moss, stones, plants and your choice of three fairy garden accessories will be provided. But it’s up to you and your child to create the story and design the home for the fairies who will take up residence in your backyard.
Choose between the following classes: 12-1pm Saturday, April 13; 10-11am Friday, April 19; or 1-2pm Sunday, April 28. The fee is $35. This class is for ages 5 and older.
With Mother’s Day just around the corner, share a memorable activity creating a special planter with your child. During the Tea Cup Planter for Mother’s Day class you’ll paint a pot for a beautiful flower to plant. Heinz Brothers will provide the plant material, container, soil and fertilizer.
Choose between two Tea Cup classes: 1-1:30pm Sunday, May 5, or 9:30-10am Saturday, May 11. The fee is $10. This class is for ages 3 and older.
The third offering, Summer Container Planting Party, gives you and your child an opportunity to create your own flowering container to display at home. Potting soil, fertilizer, plant material and container will be provided.
Options for the Planting Party are as follows: 1:30-2:30pm Saturday, May 18, or Sunday, May 26. The fee is $40.
