This January and February, community members will see New Year’s resolutions transform into results, with several fitness programs and small group training opportunities at Norris Recreation Center.
Brand-new adult offerings from the St. Charles Park District include Rump Renovation, a 30-minute guided program designed to trim and tone with high-intensity drills, and Dad Bod to Rad Bod, which encourages fathers to carve out time for fitness education and functional, dynamic exercises. Dads can also level up to Muscle Bod, the second program in the workout series.
An additional new program to the park district roster is Cardio Blast, which employs a customized approach for each person in a small group setting. Individual assessments and training help participants start their exercise journey off on the right foot and maximize their potential for weight loss.
“The St. Charles Park District is here to support people’s goals and create an environment that’s not intimidating or scary,” said Dan Charak, Membership Services Supervisor for
Norris Recreation Center.
Programs such as Family Fitness and Kidz Fit motivate families as well as children ages 8 to 13 respectively to enjoy the mood-boosting effects of exercise while also providing a strong foundation for a healthy lifestyle. The program, Fun & Functional Training, caters to young athletes ages 9 to 14 seeking to cross-train and increase stamina to improve their overall performance.
“In Family Fitness, we teach different forms of exercise with the idea that participants can take the skills home with them and create fun workouts in the family room,” Charak said.
Programs, all of which are led by certified personal trainers, take place at various dates and times this winter and are open to both members and non-members of the St. Charles Park District.
